Cantamus Candelit Christmas Concert

Don’t miss Cantamus Christmas Concert Poster 2018 for email[8954]this very popular and atmospheric candlelit concert by Cantamus Singers in North Norfolk on the 7th and 8th of December. The choir is led by its inspirational Director Philip Adams who is also the Director of Music and Organist at Holy Trinity Church in West Runton. Philip’s formative musical experiences were centred on the English choral tradition. He studied organ, choral conducting and piano accompaniment at Trinity College of Music, London.

Cantamus will be performing ‘The Christmas Story’ a dramatic and musical representation of the birth of Christ. Carols by Gustav Holst, Edward Elgar, Peter Warlock and John Stainer will be sung; congregational carols will also be performed.

Thorpe Market Church has hosted this special event for 25 years. Cantamus have also been invited by the organisers of the Trunch Concert Series to perform their candlelit concert in Trunch, in aid of the St Botolph’s Church conservation and restoration project.

Seasonal Spectacular Friday 2 to Sunday 4 November, 11am-4pm

Once again we will be holding a seasonal exhibition and sale of work in the very pretty (and warm!) St Margaret’s church, Thorpe Market combining stunning new artwork with a variety of unique, handmade Christmas gifts, cards and prints, from three local artists.  As always, a wide selection of used books will be for sale, as well as refreshments in the form of teas, coffees and delicious homemade cakes.  The exhibition is accessible for wheelchairs and is dog friendly, and as always there will be teas and delicious homemade cakes and a selection of used books.  Do come along and meet the artists who will be on hand throughout the exhibition.  Opening hours 11am – 4pm each day.

Rosalie Osborne Gibb will be exhibiting a new collection of exciting and diverse artwork, together with signed Limited Edition Prints, greetings cards, mugs and coasters from her artwork, including Christmas cards.   Terrie will have a unique range of handmade kiln-fired glass items, ranging from beautiful Murano glass pendants to Christmas decorations and ornamental items.  Ian Clifft designs and makes handmade clocks, lamps and other gift items from reclaimed oak with inserts of complimentary materials.  All of which would make beautiful, unique presents if you can bear to part with them!
